At age 24, I married a unkara man who was fifty years older than me. Everyone around me thought I had married him solely for his money. I myself was convinced that, after his death, his entire fortune would become mine

I rushed to his study and unlocked the drawer.

Inside, I found a thick folder containing bank statements, property documents, and a letter addressed to me.

I opened the letter with trembling hands.

“My dear wife,

If you are reading this, it means you have finally discovered what happened to my fortune.

I know you may be angry with me. Perhaps you believe I betrayed you.

But before you judge me, I want you to understand one thing.

When I married

you, I knew that many people would assume you were interested in my money. I also knew that you were young and had never experienced the kind of loneliness that comes with growing old.

I could have left you everything. I had enough money to ensure that you would never have to work another day in your life.

But I asked myself a question.

Would that truly make you happy?
