I burst into tears.
Sarah added softly:
“Thank you for giving him the chance to love again.”
I replied:
“No, Sarah. We simply reminded each other that we’re still alive.”
Today, I’m seventy years old.
David is seventy-three.
We’re still together.
Sometimes we argue. Sometimes we’re afraid of the future. But every morning, we’re grateful to have another day by each other’s side.
I’ve learned that 69 is not too old to fall in love. The only time it’s truly too late is when you decide there’s no longer any room for happiness in your life. ❤️
What would you have done in my place? Would you have forgiven David for planning to leave without an explanation, or would you have seen his fear as a sign that he wasn’t ready for love again? 💔👇
