And most of all, he remembered the judge who had given him a second chance.
Adam smiled.
He said:
“Tell me why you stole the food.”
The man lowered his head.
“I was hungry, sir.”
Adam closed the file.
Then he said:
“Then before we talk about punishment, let’s talk about how we can make sure you never have to steal food again.”
And at that moment, Adam finally understood the greatest lesson that judge had taught him:
