PART 2: THE TRAP CHANGED OWNERS

Twice.

Three.

Flynn was screaming behind me.

“STOP IT!”

The crew appeared.

But not to stop me.

The captain left the bridge with two men in uniform.

“Mrs. Sterling,” he said. This way!

I was paralyzed.

Who are you?

The man pulled out a badge.

Coast Guard.

I felt my legs stop holding me.

“How…?”

The captain quietly pointed to my phone.

“Your head of security warned us.

Marcus.

I had succeeded.

But then a shot was heard.

Everyone crouched down.

Flynn showed up at the end of the corridor with a gun.

No one moves!

Fiona and Aidan were behind him.

For the first time, the three of them stopped pretending.

They were not my family.

They were my executioners.

Flynn pointed straight at me.

Give me the phone.

I looked at him.

Do you know what is the funniest thing?

“Shut up!

“You thought I was the naive heir.

I took a step back.

But my father never taught me to trust people.

Flynn frowned.

So what did he teach you?

I smiled.

To be suspicious of them.

At that moment, the yacht lights went out.

Everything was black.

They heard screams.

A struggle.

One blow.

Then a voice went through the darkness:

“NOW!

The emergency lights went on.

Flynn was on the ground.

Aidan had handcuffed hands.

Fiona was crying.

And behind them were four armed agents.

But Flynn was still smiling.

“It doesn’t matter,” he said.

I slowly approached.

What doesn’t matter?

He spit blood on the ground.

“The money.

What about him?

“It’s done.

My smile disappeared.

“What did you do?”

Flynn looked up.

“Your power.

The world seemed to stop.

I transferred the assets two days ago.

I felt a void in my chest.

“Lie.”

Check it out.

I took out my phone.

I opened the trust account.

And then I saw the screen.

TRANSFER IN PROCESS.

Three words.

Three words that made my heart stop.

Until a second notification appeared.

TRANSFER CANCELLED.
